Day 02

DAY 2 Up at 7:30, leave at 10:30. Brisk morning, but turns into very nice day. 35 minutes to Govt Trail turnoff, 45 more to Slickhorn #1, about 75 more to Slickhorn #4. Super muddy and wet along road, pants and boots cake by the time I get to camp. Camp on north rim just downcanyon from road, water in pools below me. Hike around for a few, get water, set up camp. Pretty warm until about 5, then starts cooling down. 45 in my tent now (7:30), was in 60’s during the day. Saw little “Hogan” at top of Slickhorn #3, but that was about it for the day.
