Day 06

DAY 6 Woke up to nice day, blue skies all day. Of course little breeze, only really cold when I’m on mesatop. 60’s most of day, warmer in the canyon. Hiked down Slickhorn #1 from9:40 to 3 something. Saw 5 different sites – Slickhorn Kiva, Long Ledge Ruin, Dawn Granary, Dusk Granary, and Grooves in a Cave (a Basketmaker site). Trail down was a little tough, not because of snow, just because of steepness, but made it back up in 13 minutes! Gone most of day, cows around when I get back. Pumped water, then walked back to look at Pendant Village again. Got cold about 5, 39 now (8:40). Lots of sites today, little else. Little nervous about tomorrow, especially about finding water, but it will be nice to be seeing new places for a change. Hoping for more good weather.
