Day 10

DAY 10 Partly cloudy/partly sunny all day. Pretty warm and no real wind. Mild and nice overall, 60 in tent just after 8. 20 minutes cross country to road, about 50 minutes on road, about 30 minutes cross country to find a campsite on ledge at head of SS Deer Canyon. Water nearby and easy to get. At camp well before 12 (left at 9:40). Hiked along bench and dropped into canyon a ways down. Found ruin I called Broken Walls, trashed ruin with some decent pottery shards. Came back and found a piece of grey by tent on ledge, went on top to see if I could find out where it came from. No luck, but did find a Lonely Cyst in the middle of nowhere. Wandered around on top for about an hour, that’s all I found. Came back to camp. Broke spoon this morning, so spent about an hour carving a replacement - so-so on results. A little more cloudy and breezy after dinner (now). Hope I don’t get any weather, plan on not staying here tomorrow as I initially thought I might. Much better mood about trip today than yesterday.
