Day 05
Cold night, brisk morning. A little cloudy, wasn't bad when sun came out. A little cool all day. Got pretty breezy as day went on, really breezy while I'm in bed. Went back to #9, up the canyon, saw Deep Cave w/Small Structure, looked across at Basketmaker Cave. Then climbed way up to Footstep Ruin. Forgot how scary the access is. Pretty good ruin, a testament to overprotective parents everywhere. Came out of ruin, looked for way up a pouroff, found some steps carved in, led me out of canyon, across to rim of #10 right above another BM cave. Back to camp. Then went up #11 to Burst Granary Ruin. The ruin is at ground level, but the canyon was the most difficult I've faced so far. Interesting ruin. Back to camp, washed hair (cold!!), pumped some water. Then I hiked up to #13, went up a bit, found White Dot Ruin. Only a bit one wall left, heavy cow impact. Some pictographs along back wall - par of a guy, some hands, doodles, and long row of white dots. Exited canyon, headed NW towards #14. Hit cairned trail that led along rim into the south fork of 14. Walked up to rim, took photos and video, then climbed, first to Cave w/Cysts, then to Procession Panel. Back to camp, pressed for time. Back about 5:30, wind had pushed tent onto side,no damage done. Finished getting water, cooked and ate, to bed. Windy!
