Day 09

Woke up to an overcast morning, off and on cloudy and sunny all day. Saw some storms go by, but none got me. Pretty mild by after dinner. Walked back south and went up #23. Saw all 4 Basketmaker caves, had some map mix-ups, fixed them, saw the Red Fortress, which might by the ruin I've heard referred to as Bulls-Eye or Target. Looked all through the lower part, lots of rock art (esp spirals) that I missed last time. Went back down canyon and climbed above and down into the actual fortress. A little scary getting out and back. Nice ruin, nice rock art (3 green "bulls-eye" pictographs). Swung back by camp, then up #25 to Climbing Wall Ruin. Less than I remember. Kept going up to steps above pouroff. Up a lot of slickrock, then down into the top of #22 via more steps. Went to Comb Edge Ruin, ate lunch on edge of the Comb, looking down on road in Comb Wash. Followed ORV track back down #24, saw a guy and his wife of 4wheelers, back to camp. Laid in tent and read, got water, read some more, dinner, bed.
