Day 10
Mild morning, a little wind around 11-2, then got hot, warmest of trip so far. Headed north, terrain becomes rougher, small hills between Comb Ridge and Butler Wash. Marked another pithouse site between canyons #26 and 27. Finally got up to #30 (Fishmouth) at lunch. Went up canyon, saw the two nice lower ruins, as well as two north facing caves with walls (both really crappy ruins). Climbed clear up to Fishmouth Cave (a horrible climb), checked out ruins on side of wall, then into the cave. Always forget how big it is. Lots of metate rocks, some real rock art amidst all the graffiti . Springs dripping from back ceiling. Back at bottom of scree slope, go up to small alcove on north wall - steps, wall, some rock art - call it the Fishmouth Guesthouse. Go up on ridge to see a site I remembered, a few hundred feet donwridge from it is another smashed building, rename them both Ridgeline Community. Grab pack, north to #32. Miss Metate Camp, but see an owl and find some Cysts. Camp nearby. Hot afternoon, mild evening. Moons visible again, nay have some light by end of trip.
