Day 07

Day 7 - Sleep in until 8, so a late start. Dayhike up White Roost. Make to to the constructed cattle trail, climb up a ways. Very ominous clouds shut down my hike early, and back at tent just before noon, when it rains for 20 minutes really hard. Cloudy off and on (always hot) the rest of the day. White Roost very gorgeous, running water, tight canyon, lots of green. Couldn't find either inscription, just a 193- at the base of the cattle trail. After rainstorm went back downcanyon and climbed up to Arch. Steep, sandy trail up, but arch is pretty cool. Part of a constructed cattle trail (part washed away). Climbed to rim, slickrock everywhere. Back to camp, got water. Hawk in tree by camp. Toads all over, even on tent. Somewhere to the east getting pounded tonight (the Maze?) Lots of lightning flashes in the clouds to the east. Sweating laying in my tent at 9 trying to sleep
