Day 02

Day 2 - Long, long day. Very hot and somewhat windy all day. Down the Flint Trail, passed by 2 guys in an old suburban. Go down the dirt road and out to the Golden Stairs trailhead. Hike down the Golden Stairs - 2 miles in 2 hours. Long, steep, hot, and hard! Saw the Mother and Child pinnacle. A little bit more road, then a trail into Range Canyon (the Fins). Finally dropped pack at 5:30, went and found Lou's Spring - very good water, nice and cold. Then found a campsite, lugged pack and water to it - 6:30. Set up camp and fought stove, late night. Found water-beaten piece of pottery in main wash in front of the side canyon containing the spring
