Day 06

Day 6 - 2.5 hours across Ernies Country to the end of the dirt road. Open and hot hike. Hot and windy. Found one piece of worked stone. Nice views to the south of the Needles and Dark Canyon Plateau. Smoke from a fire in the far distance (on Elk Ridge?). Came into the Dollhouse, have a hard time finding the Spanish Bottom Trailhead. Trails Illustrated map is wrong. Long, steep hike down to Spanish Bottom. Saw a couple of granaries along the way, and 2 boaters who came up from the river. Get sweet rafters spot with lots of shade. Snakes around, see one catch a lizard in midair.
