Phipps Wash November 2000
This trip was with Mike Nelson and a friend of his whose name might be Kevin. We drove all the way from Provo on a Saturday morning, hiked down Phipps Wash and saw Phipps Arch, Maverick Natural Bridge, and camped at the mouth of Deer Canyon. The next day we walked up Deer Canyon a bit, saw Bowington Arch, then climbed above the canyon and ridge walked back to the head of Phipps to the car. Then we cruised home, stopping in Boulder for some dinner. Nothing technical or difficult about this hike, but some gorgeous scenery and easy access make it a good intro to the Escalante area.
