Kings Peak - July 2002

This is one of three long hikes I did with Bob Rasmussen (Shanes brother) in the summer of 2002. We drove through Wyoming to get to the north side of Kings Peak late on a Saturday night. Then next morning we took off and did the whole 30 miles in one long, long day, getting back to the car in the dark, then driving home that night. I mainly remember this trip because I got altitude sickness just before we got to the top, at the base of the last scramble up the boulders. I basically crawled that last part, then just laid on the ground when we got to the top. Bob took most of the pictures from the top with my camera. Then it was a ruthless hike back to the car.
